Research Management

• Interdepartmental coordination
  As a central interface, Research Management coordinates cooperation with internal departments, such as IT, Finances and HR, as well as external partners, institutions and organisations.

• Financial management
  We plan the budget for the Medical Research Centre and are responsible for the financial control of personnel, infrastructure and project costs.

• Coordination of third-party funding
  We support researchers throughout the application process and manage approved third-party funded projects. We ensure careful control and guarantee the transparent and efficient use of funds. Additionally, we serve as the central point of contact for funding institutions and donors.

• Research infrastructure
  Our responsibilities include providing, operating and coordinating research infrastructure. This encompasses the continuous development of technical equipment, as well as the procurement and maintenance of research and laboratory equipment.

• Biosafety
  We support researchers in preparing and submitting all necessary biosafety notifications and applications. We also ensure that applicable biosafety standards and legal requirements are consistently met.

• Operations management
  We promote the sustainable and efficient development of research operations by optimising existing processes, developing and implementing new procedures and concepts.

• Science communication
  The team designs and implements communication formats for the Medical Research Centre. This includes the biennial activity report, website content and other public relations materials.

Technology transfer

• Contractual and legal matters
  We review research, material transfer and licence agreements for legal compliance and coordinate their negotiation and finalisation in close cooperation with the Legal & Compliance department.ith Legal & Compliance.

• Patenting of research results
  We support the evaluation of research results with regard to patentability and commercial potential, coordinate the patent application process, and ensure the complete documentation of applications.
